Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a Procedural Area Materials Technician to join our OR Supply Chain Services team. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 5am to 1:30pm, supporting the OR and SPD areas with daily replenishment and inventory management.

Responsibilities include receiving and distributing materials, maintaining par levels, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure timely access to supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months related experience required.
• Experience with inventory management systems preferred.
• Ability to perform math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Verbal and written communications.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write the English language.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison for replenishment orders and manages recalls and product conversions.
• Assists in care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies.
• Performs daily replenishment for non-stock items supporting OR SPD and OR rooms; conducts shelf audits and places orders.
• Ensures supplies are rotated to reduce obsolescence and waste; coordinates recalls.
• Receives, processes and distributes incoming materials and equipment to requisitioning departments.
• Maintains accurate par levels and coordinates transfer of materials within OR storage areas.
• Monitors inventory levels and reports discrepancies or damages promptly.
