Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Cross Functional Associate to provide support to the operating rooms and sterile processing. You will assist with instrument processing, room turnover, supply management, and safety compliance to keep ORs running smoothly.

Responsibilities include ensuring cleanliness, assisting with patient transport, equipment readiness, and adherence to HIPAA and privacy policies. A team player with strong communication and attention to detail is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or equivalent
• Internet email software, McKesson PHS
• CPR – American Heart Association within 60 days of hire
• Act 34/33/73 background clearance certificates

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the Operating Room and Sterile Processing by assisting with room turnover, waste disposal, and daily/terminal cleaning procedures
• Completes assigned tasks in SPD under direct supervision
• Anticipates equipment needs based on scheduled cases and transports equipment to and from the OR
• Maintains adequate supply levels by restocking designated areas and ensuring proper room setup for upcoming cases
• Assists with patient positioning, identification, and safe transport to and from the operating room
• Follows safety protocols and uses PPE
• Transports specimens to the lab and follows patient identification protocols
• Obtains and returns blood and blood products from Blood Bank
• Other duties as assigned or requested
