Job summary

Mille Lacs Health System in Minnesota is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to scrub in and assist in the OR suite. You will obtain supplies, set up the sterile field, and pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety and infection-control protocols. Prior OR experience or certification is preferred; strong communication and reliability are essential for patient protection and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technologists; Certified Surgical Tech preferred.
• LPNs: state MN license with OR scrub tech experience from another facility.
• Basic Life Support certification is required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in and assists in the OR suite. Maintains sterile field and sets up instruments.
• Passes instruments to surgeon during procedures and assists the team.
• Performs counts with circulator prior to incision and closing.
• Maintains room cleanliness and proper equipment handling after procedures.
• Mentor new staff and ensure safety and quality in all tasks.
