Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an OR Scrub Technician to join the Surgical Team in the Operating Room. You will prepare the operating room for each patient and assist the team under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety.

Responsibilities include assembling supplies, maintaining sterile fields, and communicating effectively with all team members. On-call duties may be required as designated by management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists is required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation recognition (healthcare provider level) is required.

Responsibilities

• Gather supplies, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Prepare and maintain sterile field for each surgical case.
• Assist surgical team during procedures and communicate clearly with team members.
• Maintain accurate counts of supplies, sutures and sponges on sterile field.
• Drape the surgical site and handle sharps and instruments safely.
