Job summary

The UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland is seeking an experienced scrub/circulating nurse for the Operating Room. You will function in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality patient care while supporting staffing across multiple OR services.

Required are CA RN licensure, CPR, and PALS certifications, with a strong commitment to on-call duties and flexibility to orient at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Qualifications

• Function as a scrub and/or circulating nurse in the OR under minimal supervision.
• Current experience in the OR of an acute care facility.
• Proficient in scrubbing in at least two of General Surgery, Neurology, Orthopedics/Spine, Otolaryngology, GU, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Cardiac.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; well organized and detail oriented.
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently under pressure.
• On-call commitment and flexibility to orient at UCSF locations.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care.
• Function as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams within the OR setting.
• Assist with management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
