Job summary

Lyric builds an AI-native platform for supply chain decisions, where modeling, planning, and applied decision science run on a single composable architecture. The OR Scientist / Algorithms Engineer role is an entry/early-career IC position within the Decision Science team, reporting to Algorithms/Applied Science leadership.

You'll turn ambiguous supply chain problems into production-grade optimization models, write Python code against solvers, and apply AI/LLM tooling to accelerate development

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience formulating and solving real optimization problems (LP/MIP, heuristics, or network flows).
• Professional Python software development practices (version control, testing, code reviews).
• Experience using a modeling layer with a solver (Gurobi/CPLEX/OR-Tools) or quick to learn.
• Curious about AI/LLM tooling and applying it to optimization problems.

Responsibilities

• Formulate real supply chain decisions as LP/MIP, network flow, or heuristic models.
• Diagnose and improve slow or infeasible models using advanced techniques.
• Write production-grade Python against solvers and modeling layers.
• Use AI/LLM tooling to accelerate development and guardrail integration.
• Explain formulations and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
