Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a diligent OR Assistant to support surgical teams. The role involves assisting with room turnover, preparing sterile equipment, and supporting OR readiness through patient transport and positioning.

Hours include 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for 5 days a week, with orientation over 3-4 months. The candidate should be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a high-stress setting while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School or GED (Required).
• Aseptic technique and anatomy knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in room/case turnover by gathering, checking, organizing dispensing and/or processing equipment, gas cylinders, supplies and instruments; opens sterile supplies and instruments.
• Assist with OR readiness through patient transportation, positioning and room preparation; position patients for procedures and assist nursing staff as needed.
