Job summary

The role emphasizes safe patient care, clear communication, and teamwork. Requirements include High School diploma or GED and CPR training; prior OR cleaning experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and push heavy objects such as patients, supply and patient carts, beds, and equipment.
• Must have knowledge of safe handling of hazardous waste and other substances (training provided on the job).
• Must have knowledge regarding various positioning equipment (training provided on the job).
• Must have CPR skills (training provided on the job).
• In constant motion.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case.
• Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment.
• Support operative team with various requests while cases are in progress.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate daily operations.
• Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
