Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital seeks an experienced OR RN to deliver comprehensive nursing care in a high-quality surgical environment. You will coordinate perioperative care across pediatrics to geriatric patients, ensuring safe, cost-effective outcomes and adherence to standards.

Eligible candidates must hold an RN license in North Carolina, have an Associate's degree (BSN preferred), and BLS; ACLS & PALS are desired and should be obtained within 6 months if not active.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Associate's degree required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in NC or compact multistate license
• BLS required upon hire; ACLS & PALS preferred; must obtain within 6 months if not active
• CNOR certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to the surgical patient with a safe plan of care in the OR
• Follow age-specific standards for medication administration and perioperative care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including surgeons, anesthesia providers, SPD and radiology
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in the medical record
• Participate in Universal Protocol and time-out procedures for every procedure
• Contribute to performance improvement activities and care delivery system development
