Job summary

Ascension in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced OR nurse to support the surgical team in the Main OR. The role involves scrubbing, circulating, and assisting the operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning.

Eligible candidates hold an Indiana RN license, an ACLS or BLS certification, and a Diploma in Nursing. Prior OR experience is required, with full-time daytime shifts available at Ascension St. Vincent.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Indiana
• ACLS or BLS certification required within specified timeframe
• Previous OR experience is required
• Diploma in nursing from an accredited program

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions including selection/handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care before, during and after procedure.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
