Job summary

The Registered Nurse OR at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn delivers patient-centered surgical nursing care for assigned cases, collaborating with the health team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

This full-time, night-shift position requires an accredited nursing program graduate, NYS RN license, and BLS certification, with OR nursing experience required. CNOR/AORN preferred. Comprehensive benefits and generous time off are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program; BSN preferred.
• OR Nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient assessment, reassessment, and progress toward goal achievement accurately and timely.
• Promote patient safety and quality, adhering to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, escalating situations appropriately.
• Establish effective caring relationships with staff, patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
• Administer medication and parenteral therapy according to policy and procedure, including blood administration.
• Establish priorities for patient care delivery and coordinate patient care responsibilities.
• Provide patient/family education and assist in discharge planning.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care based on patient needs.
