Job summary

Reston Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in Reston, VA. You will assess patients preoperatively, educate families, prepare for anesthesia, and participate in surgical safety protocols.

Join a collaborative team with leadership to ensure patient-centered care and continuous improvement; on-call is required during select non-business hours; 2 years’ OR experience preferred and ACLS certification within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN (Registered Nurse) licensure required.
• Associate Degree in nursing or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
