HCA Florida JFK North Hospital in West Palm Beach, FL, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Services OR to influence patient care through collaboration with management and hospital councils. You will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively, educate families, prepare patients for surgery, and participate in universal protocols to ensure safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or Recognized Compact Licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• CPI Certification.
• Minimum of one year acute care hospital RN experience.
• OR RN experience with ENDO an added PLUS.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification per hospital policy (briefing, time-out, debriefing).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement.
• Be an integral member of an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons and techs.
• Apply nursing process, clinical judgment, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes and care provided.
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up.

Education
