Job summary

Novant Health in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a skilled OR Registered Nurse to support the operating room team. This full-time day shift role involves preparing rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and serving in scrub or circulator capacities to assist surgeons and the anesthesia team.

Candidates should have an active RN license in North Carolina and a Bachelor’s degree preferred. At least one year of OR experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• RN license current in the appropriate state (NC) is required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred; licensure reinstatement provisions described for inactive licenses.
• One year of relevant operating room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring availability and functionality of surgical instruments, supplies, implants, medications, and equipment.
• Assist with room setup and maintain sterile fields according to established surgical and infection control standards.
• Function in scrub and/or circulator roles during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon, anesthesia provider, and surgical team needs throughout procedures.

What We Offer:

• Schedule : Full time day shift, 6:45A-7:15P (36 hours), 3 12‘s within window of M-F, some call/ weekend call requirements. This will be discussed more in depth during interview.
• Department: Operating Room
• Location : Forsyth Medical Center, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC.
• Unit Info: 17 OR rooms, 1:1 ratio, range of procedures.
• Requirements: Prior o perating room experience required for this position.

What We‘re Looking For:

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
