Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an experienced OR nurse at Kernersville Medical Center in Kernersville, NC. The role involves circulating during surgeries, preparing rooms with instruments, supplies, implants, medications, and equipment, and maintaining sterile fields in line with infection control standards.

Ideal candidates will have a 4-year degree or nursing degree from an accredited school, active RN licensure in the state, and at least one year of relevant OR experience.

Qualifications

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• One year relevant experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring availability and functionality of surgical instruments, supplies, implants, medications, and equipment.
• Assist with room setup and maintain sterile fields according to established surgical and infection control standards.
• Function in circulator role during surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon, anesthesia provider, and surgical team needs throughout procedures.

What We Offer

• Schedule: 40 hours (FT), 08:30A-19:00 (7P), four 10 hour shifts within a window of M-F with usually Wednesday as day off. Some call requirements/ weekend call/ holiday call required. This will be discussed more during interview.
• Department: Operating Room (OR)
• Location: Kernersville Medical Center, Kernersville, North Carolina.
• Unit Info:4 Operating Rooms and 2 procedure rooms, procedures range. Primarily circulating, potential to cross train to scrub.
• Requirements: Previous OR experience strongly preferred.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
