Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. The OR operates 24/7 with 15 Hybrid ORs covering Orthopedics, Neuro, General, ENT/Plastics and more. New grads are welcome and a comprehensive orientation and mentorship program are provided.

Responsibility includes delivering patient-centered care, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting quick room turnover while collaborating with the OR team. On-call duties with weekend rotation apply.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Iowa or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• OR experience preferred; open to new grads.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate handoffs and care plans clearly with patients and families.
• Assess, plan, intervene, coordinate and evaluate patient care.
• Ensure real-time documentation and adherence to policy.
• Delegate and supervise licensed and unlicensed staff as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and collaborate with the health care team.
