Qualifications

Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state.
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
ACLS certification required or must obtain within 6 months for Anesthesia & CVOR teams.

Responsibilities

Draw up medications for anesthesia induction.
Assist with intubations and airway management.
Set up arterial and blood lines; aid in ordering blood products.
Perform IV placement, including pediatric patients.
Assist with central and arterial line placements.
Position patients for surgery in various positions.
Provide anesthesia support during off-site procedures (CT, MRI, Cath Lab, Bronchoscopy, ICU).
Stock anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Conduct daily crash cart and malignant hyperthermia cart checks.
Assist anesthesia teams during Open Heart surgeries.
