Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina Imaging department seeks a Radiologic Technologist to provide technical and clinical support, operating X-ray equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is required with ARRT registration and SC licensure. BLS is required; ACLS preferred. Flexibility for 4/10 hour shifts and monthly call rotation is expected.

Job description

Job Description Summary

Responsible for providing technical and clinical support to the Imaging department. Operates X-ray equipment for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes.
Monday – Friday 4/10 hour shifts 7am – 530 pm with 1-2 possible late shifts a week.
Flexible call schedule (roughly 8 per month) varies with rotation.

  • Knowledge of EPIC software
  • Familiar with PACS archiving
  • Knowledge of Hybrid Siemens equipment/Advanced Vascular features & Troubleshooting (Pheno/Zeego)
  • Knowledge of Siemens Portable C-arm functions to include digital subtraction, road mapping, measurements etc.
  • Familiar with Vascular supplies to include balloons, diagnostic catheters, wires, sheaths etc.

Job Description

Perform routine diagnostic radiographs and are responsible for performing minor interventional procedures under the supervision of a radiologist and/or licensed fluoroscopic supervisor while Radiologic Technologists III independently perform the most complex technical and/or invasive procedures.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: At least two years of modality specific work experience required. Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Skill Set: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
