Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina invites applications for a Radiologic Technologist to support the Imaging department. You will operate X-ray equipment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, with a Monday–Friday day schedule and occasional late shifts in a fast-paced environment.

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT registration, SC licensure, and BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology; ARRT registration and SC licensure are required.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; ACLS preferred.
  • Should be proficient with EPIC, PACS, and Siemens imaging systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine diagnostic radiographs and assist with minor interventional procedures under radiologist supervision.
  • Independently perform the most complex procedures as qualified; maintain patient safety and image quality.
  • Operate imaging equipment with attention to radiation safety and infection control.
  • Collaborate with team; demonstrate multitasking and effective communication.

Job description

Job Description Summary

Responsible for providing technical and clinical support to the Imaging department. Operates X-ray equipment for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes. Monday – Friday 4/10 hour shifts 7am – 530 pm with 1-2 possible late shifts a week. Flexible call schedule (roughly 8 per month) varies with rotation.

  • Knowledge of EPIC software
  • Familiar with PACS archiving
  • Knowledge of Hybrid Siemens equipment/Advanced Vascular features & Troubleshooting (Pheno/Zeego)
  • Knowledge of Siemens Portable C-arm functions to include digital subtraction, road mapping, measurements etc.
  • Familiar with Vascular supplies to include balloons, diagnostic catheters, wires, sheaths etc.

Job Description

Perform routine diagnostic radiographs and are responsible for performing minor interventional procedures under the supervision of a radiologist and/or licensed fluoroscopic supervisor while Radiologic Technologists III independently perform the most complex technical and/or invasive procedures.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: At least two years of modality specific work experience required.

Registration/Certification

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
