Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Progressive knowledge of methods, procedures, materials and equipment in designated areas.
• Physically able to stand/walk, lift, move patients and equipment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork and dependability.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain room cleanliness prior to and following surgical procedures.
• Assist with preparation of operating room including retrieval of monitors and specialty beds and related equipment for surgeries.
• Assist nursing staff in preparing patient for surgery including lifting, positioning, and prepping.
• Delivery of blood products and specimens to appropriate locations.
• Return instruments and unused supplies after case completion or when cases are cancelled.
• Precept new hires as assigned.
• Demonstrate infection control and universal precautions.
