Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, VA, is seeking an OR/PACU RN to join our team. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 2 holidays per year, offering an opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization.

The OR/PACU RN role involves advanced patient assessments, perioperative planning, and compassionate support to patients and families, with a focus on anesthesia management and safe medication administration across routes.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• 2–3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU preferred.
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills.
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems and formulate plans.
• Perform initial preoperative assessment and explain subsequent phases of surgery.
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to patient and family.
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients with various anesthesia types.
• Administer medications by IV and other routes as directed.

In this role, theOR/PACU RN will:

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
• Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
• Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed

• Active RN license
