Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2–3 years of experience in Operating Room or PACU
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
• Able to input and retrieve information from a computer
• Demonstrates good judgment and independent work
• Excellent communication and patient care
• Commitment to continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Identify patient care problems and develop care plans.
• Perform preoperative assessment and outline the surgical plan.
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to patient and family.
• Care for patients under various anesthesia types including conscious sedation.
• Administer medications IV and other routes as directed.
• Educate patients and families about care and procedures.

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for an OR/PACU RN to join our team at Fertility Centers of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; with weekend and holiday rotations
• Compensation: $40 to $45 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the OR/PACU RN will:

• Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
• Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explain the subsequent phases of surgery
• Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
• Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
• Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
• Provide patient education

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Active RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• 2 to 3 years of clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
