Job summary

US Fertility, operating through its Shady Grove Fertility network, is seeking an OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join the Towson, Maryland team. The role supports surgical procedures, maintains sterile technique, and prepares rooms and instruments for procedures.

Qualified candidates will have formal MA education/certification, OR/ambulatory surgical experience, OB/GYN exposure, and strong customer service. Competitive benefits for full-time staff are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assist as scrub technician in the OR.
• Maintain sterile technique and setup of equipment.
• Prepare rooms and ensure instruments and supplies are available.
• Use instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sanitary standards per OSHA; operate autoclave as required.
• Provide ultrasound guidance under physician supervision during transfers.
• Offer comfort and information to patients to alleviate anxieties.

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for an OR/PACU Medical Assistantto join our team atShady Grove Fertility in Towson, Maryland.

• Schedule:Every other Saturday and Sunday, 5:45 AM until shift ends
• Compensation: $22 to $25 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the OR/PACU Medical Assistantwill:

• Assist as scrub technician in the OR
• Properly sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipment
• Prepare rooms for all procedures while ensuring necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are available
• Use technical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure
• Conduct proper sanitary maintenance of equipment according to OSHA guidelines
• Use an autoclave and clean per protocol
• Provide ultrasound guidance under physician’s supervision during transfers
• Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Must have completed formal MA education/certification
• Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
• Experience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) is required
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
• Infertility/IVF experience is preferred
• Phlebotomy skills are preferred
• Professionalism and strong customer service skills a must
