Job summary

MCR Health, Inc. is seeking an Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join our Bradenton, FL team. The role focuses on comprehensive perioperative patient assessment and care within the OR setting.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient readiness for surgery, administering medications, collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and educating patients and families about the perioperative process. This position requires strong clinical skills and teamwork in a fast-paced operating room.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessment of patients' clinical condition and psychosocial needs during the perioperative period.
• Observe behavioral and physiologic changes due to medications; take appropriate action and document.
• Demonstrates knowledge of drugs, actions, and side effects of medications administered.
• Protects patient's right to privacy.
• Provides patient explanations and verbal reassurances as appropriate.
• Communicates clearly with the surgeon/anesthesiologist; collaborates with the health-care team.
• Educates patient/caregiver regarding the perioperative experience.
• Coordinates and supervises teaching to the patient and caregiver.
• Implements a plan of care safely; maintains a safe environment.
