Job summary

TriStar Horizon Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Nurse PRN to join the OR team. The role emphasizes patient assessment before surgery, education for patients and families, and adherence to perioperative protocols within a collaborative surgical team.

Qualifications

• RN licensed registered nurse.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required or must be obtained within stated timeframes.
• PALS certification required or to be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• OR circulating experience REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery and educate patients/families about procedures.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and adhere to universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team and leadership to ensure safe nursing care.
• Document patient condition changes and care provided during shift.
• Assist with perioperative process and patient safety initiatives.
