Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the Operating Room.
• Supervises activities of surgical services personnel in providing care to patients and family members.
• Assists in developing, implementing and tracking unit-based key performance indicators supporting Performance Improvement programs and other measurements.
• Directs employee selection, hiring, orientation, training and ongoing staff development for the Operating Room.
• Communicates and maintains liaison with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing staff and ancillary personnel in various hospital departments.
• Demonstrates correct use and operation of required equipment according to written competency checklist procedure on file.
