Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD seeks an experienced Nursing Department Manager, RN to lead the Operating Room team. You will direct nursing strategy, daily operations, and ensure clinical quality, staffing, and patient safety in a Level II Trauma Center.

You will scrub and circulate when needed, lead talent development, manage fiscal performance, and support system-wide quality initiatives within our Surgical Services team.

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland (or MBON compact eligibility)
• BSN degree required
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• ACLS required
• CNOR or perioperative certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Operating Room and perioperative services.
• Direct nursing strategy, staffing, and daily operations.
• Ensure clinical quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership to design care delivery models.
• Monitor and improve cost effectiveness and care outcomes.
