Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee its One Day Surgery department on the Carolinas Medical Center campus. The department includes 11 operating rooms and performs about 800 surgeries per month across general surgery, pediatric and adult urology, gynecology, robotics, oncology, plastics, orthopedics, and EENT.

The successful candidate will bring a strong clinical operating room nursing background, along with experience as a clinical nurse supervisor or service line

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred; MSN required within 5 years if only BSN.
• Leadership experience in nursing management or service line leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Continually demonstrates a Professional Practice model with interdisciplinary partners to achieve high-quality outcomes.
• Ensures unit operations comply with Nursing Practice Act, regulatory standards, and policies.
• Leads recruitment, orientation, credentialing and professional development of staff.
• Delegates through shared governance and promotes research to improve clinical outcomes.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments and administers medications as necessary.
• Provides and assesses effectiveness of patient and family education.
• Participates in performance improvement activities to enhance quality and cost-efficiency.
