Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• 4×10‑hour shifts per week
• Daytime hours, no nights

Position Overview

The OR Nurse Educator will support perioperative staff through education, competency development, onboarding, and continuous clinical training. This role plays a key part in maintaining high‑quality standards in the operating room and ensuring safe, evidence‑based practice across the surgical department.

Responsibilities

• Provide education, training, and coaching to OR nursing staff
• Develop and implement clinical competencies, skills validation, and annual training
• Support onboarding for new OR staff and travelers
• Collaborate with surgeons, leadership, and perioperative teams to improve workflow and patient outcomes
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and perioperative best practices

Requirements

• Active NYS RN license
• Strong OR experience (scrub and/or circulating)
• Experience in OR education, precepting, or training strongly preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
