• Completes defined scope and standards of practice.
• Engages in environmental scanning to identify practice gaps and collaborates with others in improving practice and healthcare outcomes.
• Functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty, and partner for practice transitions.
• Supports learning, change, professional role competence and growth, which ultimately lead to optimal patient care, population health, and protection of the public.
• Full time Monday – Friday, Days/Evenings with on‑call responsibilities.
• The Nurse Educator is a vital member of the perioperative leadership team.
• This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that support the clinical competence, professional development, and regulatory compliance of OR nursing staff.
• The Nurse Educator fosters a culture of continuous learning and excellence in trauma‑informed, high‑acuity surgical care.
• Responsibilities include development and delivery of orientation programs for newly hired perioperative nurses and surgical technologists, including the planning and coordination of ongoing competency assessments.
• This role also designs continuing education programs for a variety of surgical specialties based on evidence‑based practice.
