Job summary

Halifax Health in Florida is seeking a Day RN – Operating Room (Circulator) to join our OR team. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, coordinate with the multidisciplinary team, and ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative process.

Requirements include Florida RN licensure, nursing degree (bachelor preferred), orientation completion, and strong communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• RN – State of Florida.
• Bachelor degree in nursing preferred.
• Completion of general and nursing orientation.
• Completion of unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist.
• Professionalism in interpersonal communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Certifications as required by the unit.
• Completion of annual competency based learning modules (CBL’s).
• Excellent communication with physicians, patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient on admission and ongoing basis.
• Assesses patient/family learning needs.
• Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition.
• Documents assessment data on admission and ongoing basis.
• Plans and coordinates care based on assessment and needs.
• Involves family in the plan of care as desired by the patient.
• Initiates individualized teaching plan to ensure positive outcomes and discharge.
• Implements nursing care per identified needs and collaborates with the team.
• Initiates and verifies physician orders.
• Evaluates patient/family response to interventions and progress.
• Coordinates care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes.
• Demonstrates professionalism and leadership in nursing practice.
