Job summary

Boone County Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support Surgical Services as a PRN, day shift. The role shares responsibility with the health care team to provide comprehensive patient care in the OR, PACU and related tasks.

Requirements include Iowa RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS and Mandatory Reporter; 1 year of RN experience in OR or ambulatory settings preferred. Competitive benefits; IPERS and more are offered.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Iowa.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS & Mandatory Reporter certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs circulator responsibilities in accordance with unit standards.
• Keeps track of needles, sponges, and instrumentation.
• Assists the scrub nurse with delegated tasks.
• Identifies patient problems and communicates with physicians and OR team.
• Participates in orientation and unit-based training for new staff.
• Contributes to cost-containment and uses resources appropriately.
• Serves on committees or special projects as needed.
