Job summary

Proliance Surgeons in Renton, WA seeks a Registered Nurse to perform pre-surgical nursing assessments and educate patients before admission at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The RN evaluates care needs, arranges pre-surgical clearances, and communicates the plan of care to the ASC staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with education, ensuring availability of supplies and equipment, documenting care, and supporting safety and compliance while participating in committee work when requested.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Current state licensure and CPR, ACLS and BLS certification are required.
• Two years of OR/ICU/ER experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the health care team to provide optimal care throughout the surgical experience.
• Maintain a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with patients, physicians and staff.
• Educate patients before admission and during all phases of the ASC experience.
• Ensure proper supplies, instruments, and equipment are available for procedures.
• Verify equipment is functioning properly.
• Monitor supplies and assist with inventory control.
• Document patient care accurately.
• Pursue continuing education to meet state requirements.
• Display professionalism as a representative of the Center.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as staffing demands require.
• Identify actual and potential risks to patients and take action.
• Take an active role on departmental committees.
