Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking an OR Circulator RN to coordinate and manage patient care during the intraoperative phase in a fast-paced surgical environment at our ambulatory center. You will act as the patient’s advocate and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, technologists, and perioperative staff.

The role requires a current RN license, BLS (ACLS preferred), and prior OR circulating experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Previous operating room circulating experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in multiple surgical specialties is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care during the intraoperative period.
• Ensure patient safety through adherence to policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
• Perform and document pre-procedure verification, surgical site verification, and time-out processes.
• Coordinate room setup and ensure equipment, implants, and supplies are available and functioning.
• Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation in the EMR.
• Monitor aseptic technique and sterile field integrity throughout procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and team to promote efficient case flow.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, anesthesia providers, and team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of safety and excellence.
