Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking an OR Circulator RN to coordinate and manage patient care during the intraoperative phase in a busy ASC setting. You will advocate for patients in the operating room and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to ensure a safe, efficient surgical experience.

The role emphasizes room setup, equipment readiness, and adherence to safety standards while maintaining detailed intraoperative documentation.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Previous operating room circulating experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care during the intraoperative period.
• Ensure patient safety through adherence to established policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
• Perform and document pre-procedure verification, surgical site verification, and time-out processes.
• Coordinate room setup and ensure all necessary equipment, instruments, implants, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
• Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Monitor aseptic technique and sterile field integrity throughout surgical procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team to promote efficient case flow.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, anesthesia providers, and team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of safety and excellence.
