Job summary

Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will lead nursing care using the nursing process, document patient information, and collaborate with anesthesia and staff to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative care.

The role requires an MA RN license, BLS, and scrub training for cesarean sections within 2 years. On-call duties and weekend rotations are included in a busy OR schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN Preferred.
• One year OR experience or Peri-op 101 Training Program required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Use of lead apron required.
• On-Call is required for off-shift, weekends and holidays.
• Completion of scrub training for cesarean sections within 2 years of position.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Documents assessment and care plans, communicates data to care team.
• Assists in operating room coordination with Nurse Manager and Anesthesia.
• Maintains proficiency in Nursing Informatics and patient records.
• Participates in staff development and education.
• Contributes to unit safety and quality improvement programs.
• Represents hospital professionally in the community.
