Job summary

Centrum Surgery Center in San Antonio, TX seeks an RN Charge Nurse for the Operating Room. The role focuses on planning, implementing, and evaluating perioperative nursing care, supervising staff, and ensuring safe, efficient OR operations across shifts.

Requirements include an active Texas RN license, 1 year of leadership, and 3 years peri-operative experience. ACLS/PALS certification or within 60 days of hire is expected.

Qualifications

• RN license issued by Texas is required.
• Progressive leadership experience in peri-operative settings preferred.
• Ability to supervise nursing staff and coordinate OR operations.
• Certification in ACLS and PALS or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational flow of surgical cases.
• Direct and supervise OR nursing staff per shift.
• Coordinate with anesthesia and physicians on workflow.
• Update patient records with care provided and responses to treatment.
• Ensure safety, equipment maintenance, and supply readiness.
• Mentor new staff and handle staff conflicts or concerns.
