Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (PRN) to support the operating room team under the Nurse Manager and physician supervision. You will prepare sterile supplies, assist with intraoperative tasks, and ensure a sterile field while maintaining clear communication with the circulator, surgeon, and anesthesia providers.

A minimum of 2 years OR tech experience and CST certification are required.

Qualifications

• 2-year Associate degree or 4-year Bachelor degree with specialized training in surgical processes, anatomy, instrumentation and/or equipment.
• Certification as Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist in exposure, hemostasis, and closure during operations.
• Maintain sterile field integrity and assist surgeon, circulator, and anesthesiology staff.
• Communicate effectively with the operating room team and healthcare staff.
