Job summary

Pearle Vision Lakeland is seeking a patient-focused assistant to support vision examinations and front-desk tasks. You will prepare patients for testing using autorefractor, tonometer, fundus camera, and lensometer, and help with scheduling and records.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, at least one year of optometry or medical clinic experience, attention to detail, and bilingual English/Spanish preferred. The position is full-time and on-site in Lakeland, FL.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; medical terminology preferred.
• Minimum one year of customer service experience in optometry or medical clinic.
• Ability to operate autorefractor, tonometer, fundus camera, and lensometer.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for vision examinations using autorefractor, tonometer, fundus camera, and lensometer.
• Maintain records, schedule appointments, assist with referrals and correspondence.
• Assist with eyeglasses care, repairs and adjustments.
• Maintain optometric equipment and inventory of cleaning materials.
• Maintain open communication with the Optometrist.
• Assist patients with self-pay, verify insurance eligibility, and file insurance claims.
• Other duties as assigned.
