Job summary

Dawsonohana is seeking part-time Optometrists throughout Florida to support the Medical Readiness Services for the Florida Army National Guard. Responsibilities include completing eyewear prescriptions, documenting findings accurately, and safeguarding patient information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Ideal candidates will have a Doctor of Optometry degree and an active Florida Optometrist license.   • A valid US driver’s license is required.

Job description

SUMMARY

Dawson is currently seeking applicants to fill our Optometrist positions located throughout the State of Florida in support of the Medical Readiness Services for the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays. All work is on a part‑time "as needed" basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete eyewear prescriptions for Soldiers with vision loss
  • Document findings on Military approved forms
  • Safeguard all patient information
  • Ensures all actions are in compliance with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Doctor of Optometry

  • Active Florida Optometrist license, without restrictions
  • A valid US driver’s license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly
  • Ability to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speed
  • Must submit no less than two professional references with a resume
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a Military setting
