Asacademic physicians in the evolving field of ophthalmology, westrive to improve the vision and eye health of all people byexcelling in patient care, education and research.
Chief Purpose of this position: The Department ofOphthalmology at the Virginia Commonwealth University MedicalCenter is seeking a residency-trained Optometrist with experiencein contact lens fitting and ocular disease. As a member of ourfaculty, the candidate will be responsible for an establishedclinical practice with direct patient care in two outpatientsettings including our main campus and our suburban satellitelocation. Our department supports a 12 resident ophthalmologytraining program with a full 5 year ACGME Accreditation.
Position Responsibilities: The candidate must maintain highclinical and ethical standards that will be carried intodecision-making processes, adhere to compliance measures, establishand promote an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practiceand effective communication between all staff disciplines, andfoster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. Residentsand certified ophthalmic medical technicians assist with patientcare and ancillary testing.
