Job summary

MCV Physicians seeks an ophthalmology faculty member to provide direct patient care at the downtown VCU Health campus and satellite locations. The role includes supervision of residents and ophthalmic technicians within a busy academic ophthalmology department.

Appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor is available commensurate with experience; the department supports a 16-resident training program and a 5-year ACGME accreditation, with a competitive compensation plan.

Qualifications

Department Summary:

The Department of Ophthalmology at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center supports a large health system providing both primary and tertiary care. The advertised position is responsible for direct patient care and supervision at our downtown VCU Health campus and satellite locations. Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills are required. The department supports a 16 resident ophthalmology training program with a full 5-year ACGME Accreditation.

The successful candidate must maintain high clinical and ethical standards that will be carried into decision‑making processes, adhere to compliance measures, establish and promote an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practice and effective communication between all staff disciplines, and foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction. Residents and certified ophthalmic medical technicians assist with patient care and ancillary testing. A Physician Practice Group compensation plan provides an opportunity for a competitive salary.Appointment at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor is available commensurate with experience.
