Job summary

Acuity Eye Group in Southern California is seeking a Doctor of Optometry to conduct eye and vision examinations, diagnose conditions, and manage diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eyes. The Optometrist will prescribe glasses or contacts, maintain patient records, and provide counseling on eye care while upholding HIPAA and other regulations.

This role requires California license, excellent communication, and hands-on experience with ophthalmoscopes and tonometers; travel to clinics

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and active California license in good standing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects.
• Hands-on experience with eye examination tools, such as ophthalmoscope and tonometer.
• Ability to explain medical terms simply and calmly.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests.
• Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucoma.
• Prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses.
• Advise patients on proper eye care technique.
• Maintain updated and accurate medical records for all patients.
• Book next appointments when re-examination is required.
