Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams and determine ocular health.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through care and education.
• Interview patients to determine health, history, and needs.
• Advise options for refractive and ocular conditions; hand off to staff as needed.
• Promote patient loyalty and Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
• Recommend vision therapy or low-vision rehab when appropriate.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care after eye surgery.
• Evaluate for systemic diseases like diabetes and refer when needed.
• Promote eye health and proper lens care.
• Coordinate with opticians on lens recommendations.
