Job description

Warby Parker is looking for a patient-focused and dynamic Full‑Time Optometrist to join one of its affiliated independent optometry practices. The practice is adjacent to a Warby Parker retail location. You will practice under the clinical direction of the practice’s supervising optometrist(s). The ideal candidate is a natural team player who delivers exceptional clinical care, builds meaningful relationships with patients, and contributes to the success of the entire practice. You’ll work closely with our team to deliver a best‑in‑class patient experience—and have fun doing it!

If you’re passionate about accessible eye care and excited to help grow a modern, innovative exam business, we want to hear from you. Sound like you? Keep reading!

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform high‑quality comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations in line with established clinical protocols and standards of care
  • Partner with the store team to create an exceptional patient experience while working together to grow the eye exam business at your location
  • Prescribe eyewear, contacts, and eye health solutions tailored to each patient’s needs, and educate them on their options. Diagnose and treat a variety of vision conditions, including refractive error and ocular health assessments, while ensuring accuracy to help patients see (and feel) their best
  • Share eye care knowledge and feel confident in coaching the team to help them confidently support patients throughout their journey
  • Be a visible and engaged clinical presence —reinforcing our commitment to eye care, answering patient questions, supporting product recommendations, and ensuring a seamless, elevated patient experience
  • Use modern digital exam lanes and EMR tools to streamline care and ensure an excellent patient experience
  • Support key performance goals by delivering excellent clinical care
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Leader to align on goals and strategies, to build a strong OD and store leader partnership
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient examinations and treatments in compliance with regulatory standards and practice protocols
  • Maintain State Licensure in good standing and meet all Continuing Education/State requirements
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by educating and inspiring patients and team members, reinforcing our leadership in eye care within the community
  • Take advantage of growth opportunities to expand your skill set beyond the exam lane, including developing business acumen, mentorship, and advanced clinical training
  • Perform other tasks as needed to provide an exceptional patient experience

Who you are:

  • A Doctor of Optometry licensed in the state where you practice, in good standing
  • Dedicated to leading by example, inspiring your team through exceptional patient care, collaboration, and a strong work ethic
  • Business‑minded and driven to deliver results
  • Excited by a fast‑paced, ever‑changing work environment and proactive in driving innovation and problem‑solving
  • Knowledgeable about (and eager to incorporate) new technology into your work
  • Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, including staying up to date with the latest in clinical practices
  • Not on the Office of Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) and otherwise not excluded, debarred, precluded, or sanctioned by or from participation in any government health care program or commercial insurance plan

This role is with an independent optometry practice affiliated with Warby Parker and is not a position of employment with Warby Parker. You will be employed solely by the affiliated practice, which is responsible for all clinical operations, while Warby Parker provides certain non‑clinical administrative and support services. Through its affiliation with Warby Parker, the practice may offer benefits and programs similar to those available to Warby Parker employees.
