Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from an accredited program.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams and vision testing.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through education and care.
• Perform verbal interviews to assess ocular health and patient needs.
• Advise patients on remediation options for refractive and ocular conditions.
• Coordinate hand-off to staff with recap discussions.
• Promote patient loyalty and Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Diagnose sight problems and eye diseases.
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contacts, and medications.
• Suggest treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehab.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care after eye surgery.
• Evaluate for systemic diseases and refer when needed.
• Counsel on eye health and contact lens maintenance.
• Communicate recommendations clearly to opticians and staff.
