Job summary

Acuity Eyecare Group seeks a licensed optometrist to perform comprehensive eye exams and educate patients about eyecare options. The role emphasizes building long-term patient relationships and delivering high-quality eye care within the scope of the license.

You will conduct patient interviews, assess ocular health, prescribe glasses, contacts, and medications, and contribute to practice growth through excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.

Responsibilities

• Conducting eye exams
• Establishing long term patient relationships through proper patient care and education
• Performs verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit and visual needs
• Instructs, recommends and advises patients as to options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease as well as visual needs.
• Evaluate patients for diseases such as diabetes and refer to other healthcare providers as appropriate
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery and assess post-surgery condition
• Promote eye health by counseling patients on contact lens care and eye exams
