The role requires a Doctorate of Optometry and successful licensure, with responsibilities spanning diagnosis, prescribing eyewear and medications, and promoting eye health.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards.
• Experience conducting comprehensive eye exams and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams and eye health assessments.
• Establish long-term patient relationships through care and education.
• Interview patients to determine health, ocular history, and needs.
• Advise on options for refractive and ocular conditions; coordinate with staff.
• Promote patient loyalty and align with Acuity Eyecare Group values.
• Perform vision tests and analyze results.
• Diagnose refractive errors and ocular diseases; prescribe eyewear and meds.
• Recommend treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehab.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care around eye surgery.
• Screen for diseases (e.g., diabetes) and refer as needed.
• Counsel on eye health, lens care, and follow-up exams.
• Communicate recommendations clearly to opticians and sales staff.
