Brookside Optometric Group in Stockton, CA is seeking a full-time Optometrist to join a thriving practice that delivers outstanding eye care and helps improve patients' quality of life.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree and license (TPA certificate).
• 1–3 years of clinical practice; new grads welcome.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and determine prescriptions.
• Recommend eyewear and assess contact lens prescriptions.
• Work 30–40 hours weekly; open Monday–Saturday; modern practice with advanced tech.
• Utilize Optomap, OCT, FDT, Pentacam, EnChroma, and auto-refractors with supportive staff.

What you’ll do:

As the newest member of our team, you’ll work 30 to 40 hours weekly and perform comprehensive eye examinations, recommend eyewear, and determine contact lens prescriptions. The practice is open Monday through Saturday. You’ll enjoy caring for patients in a modernized practice with access to behind‑the‑scenes functional technology, including Optomap, OCT, FDT, Pentacam, EnChroma, and auto‑refractors‑plus, as well as highly‑trained staff to support you throughout examinations.

You’re an ambitious and compassionate Optometrist who strives to consistently exceed patient expectations while providing personalized and individualized care to ensure excellent eye health and vision care. You enjoy caring for a diverse patient population, and you’re an excellent listener who genuinely cares about patients. The preferred qualifications for this position include specialty contact lens fittings and surgical co‑management for LASIK.

Job Specifications

• Doctor of Optometry degree, O.D., including Third Party Administrator (TPA) certificate of licensure
• 1-3 years of clinical practice experience with current knowledge of optometric technology and practices; new graduates are encouraged to apply
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong management, leadership, and organizational skills
• Strong business aptitude, self‑discipline, and ability to deliver outstanding patient service
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
• For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment

Working Conditions

The working environment is generally favorable; lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
