Qualifications

• Licensed optometrist in the United States (OD).
• Education recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for federal employment.
• Certificate of Foreign Equivalency required if using foreign education.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine eye care, including eye examinations and management of ocular diseases.
• Enter accurate progress notes into CPRS for each care episode.
• Maintain calibration and use of specialized ophthalmic equipment and Reusable Medical Equipment (RME).
• Provide patient and family education, informed consent, and orientation support for new staff.
• Diagnose and treat glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration; manage cataract post-operative care.
